Discover, Explore, Learn, Visualise and Engage in the world of Circus at National Circus Festival of Ireland in Tralee, Kerry on November 10-12th! Embark on the last D.E.L.V.E programme journey of this year.

The applications are now open for this ISACS members-only Go-SEE programme, worth over 200 euros including:

• Weekend Ticket to the National Circus Festival of Ireland. Includes access to all shows, seminars,  and training programmes
• Access to ISACS Open Forum Share on Saturday 10am – 12pm
• 2 nights accommodation Friday 10th, Saturday 11th November
• Subsidised travel – up to €50.00
• Invitation to an ‘artists dinner’ on Saturday Evening.

This free ISACS training programme is a programme in partnership with National Circus Festival of Ireland and supported by Arts Council Ireland.

We’ll be tweeting, posting on our different social media channels about the event using the hashtags: #DELVE17 #CircusFestIreland and the Delve participants will be sharing feedback on their experience we’ll gladly share with you!

What do I have to do to be part of the Delve?

Suitable DELVE Applicants will be:

• ISACS Members
• Have never attended the National Circus Festival Before – First Timers!
• Must be available from Friday 10 November through to Sunday 12 November early morning.
• Have an interest in writing, blogging and critical discourse around Circus, Street Arts and Spectacle

Svalbard Company (Sweden) Surreal, outrageous and utterly impressive, Svalbard revel in the absurdities of life. Extreme circus artistry highlights human behaviour at its most animalistic. Featuring Chinese pole, aerial rope, hand balance and acrobatics, with an original live soundtrack.

Join us at ‘Circus Sideshow’, a bespoke festival club full of pop-up performances, amazing music, 5×5 acts, circus decor and some wonderful surprises!

5×5 is a support programme to give new contemporary circus work a platform in Ireland, to help new work escape from studios and rehearsal spaces and break free on stage. A new initiative from the National Circus Festival of Ireland, 5×5 offers five artists the opportunity to present five minutes of new, unperformed material in front of supportive audiences. Come and marvel at how much can happen in five little minutes, Friday November 11th, The Grand Hotel Tralee, 10 pm.

ISACS annual Open Forum event ‘Share’ on Saturday 11th from 10-12pm at Tralee Chamber Alliance, 18 Denny St Tralee. 

Come along, hear a wide range of views and share your opinions, ideas & experience in a safe open forum for all interested in the future development of these art forms. This is a free, public, open event.

At the heart of the festival is Circus Siamsa, a variety show, held each year in Siamsa Tíre theatre.  This year, as every year, an entirely new show has been created by Fanzini Productions for the good people of Tralee and beyond, bringing the stars of contemporary circus, street and variety performance to the stage in Siamsa.  It’s a family show but not just for kids!  This year handpicked acts from UK, Germany, Catalunya, Brazil, Spain and Galway will come for one day to thrill, delight and amaze the lucky audiences who are there to witness this unique spectacle!  This show is a highlight of the festival and not to be missed!  “It’s circus Jim but not as we know it.”

Junior Reviewers:

After the Friday (Nov 10th) night show Svalbard Company’s All Genius All Idiot and after both editions of Circus Siamsa on Saturday (Nov 11th) young people will be invited to spend some time writing their reviews of the shows in the foyer of Siamsa Tire Theatre. Keep an eye out for our Junior Reviewers and be nice – they are the critics of the future!!!!

The open mic night for circus. A totally unique and hugely popular evening of absolutely no-holds-barred-anything-goes circus. If you have just learned to juggle, can put your entire hand in your mouth, recite poetry backwards in a fishtank or have a trained canary acrobatic team, then this is for you. An evening where the performers are the audience.
